About Luisa David

Luisa David (she/her) is a third-year undergraduate student at Simon Fraser University, double majoring in Political Science and Economics with a minor in Legal Studies. Luisa is currently an Employment Standards Officer (ESO) at the BC Government’s Ministry of Labour Employment Standards Branch (ESB). Luisa’s work as an ESO primarily concerns investigating complaints of issues under the BC Employment Standards Act, resolving complaints through voluntary resolutions, and playing a vital role in the administration side of the ESB's Alternative Dispute Resolution process. Aside from her academic fields, Luisa's interests extend to business and marketing. In high school, Luisa immersed herself in business-related courses and extracurricular activities for three consecutive years. In university, Luisa has furthered her interest and experience in marketing through her role as an executive for the Simon Fraser University Political Science Student Union (SFU PSSU). Specifically, she has served as the first-ever Vice President of Marketing for the SFU PSSU, with proficiency in graphic design, digital marketing, and social media management. Luisa proudly single-handedly rebranded, designed, and created the new SFU PSSU logo and colour scheme to represent a nonpartisan position better when advocating for the concerns and interests of all undergraduate Political Science students. Currently, Luisa serves as the Co-President of SFU PSSU, Vice President of Marketing of the SFU Pre-Law Society, and Co-Director of Equity & Sustainability for the SFU Chapter of Amnesty International. Beyond the scope of Political Science, Luisa has 4+ years of customer service experience in the restaurant and retail industry. She continues to work as a Server at The Social Tavern and Bartender/Server at Boston Pizza while juggling being an ESO, coursework, LSAT preparation, and three executive positions. Luisa looks forward to furthering her current knowledge of the law acquired from her academic and professional career in government by attending law school.
