About Lukas Kosek

I am a corrosion engineer with 10+ years of experience in nuclear materials. I specialize in liquid metal coolants for fast reactor systems or nuclear fusion systems, and I have a strong background in material sciences and electrochemistry. I enjoy studying materials with scanning electron microscopy and using electrochemical methods such as AC spectroscopy or cyclic voltammetry for in-situ studies. I love to share my know-how with colleagues and discuss high-level insights into the nuclear energy sector, fast reactors, nuclear fuel cycle, or the chemistry of liquid metals, high temperature oxidation, or military use of nuclear materials. I am currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on corrosion in nuclear systems, applying advanced thermodynamics to explain specimen behavior. I am also interested in data science and data analytics, as I see the future of material science in machine learning and automatic data processing. I am seeking new opportunities in this field or related areas.
