About Lukas Pin

I am currently pursuing a Biostatistics PhD at the University of Cambridge, with a primary focus on advancing the practical applications of Response-Adaptive-Randomization (RAR) methods in the realm of clinical trials. My goal is to leverage RAR techniques to achieve both ethical and statistical objectives within experimental designs. Before my time at Cambridge, I successfully completed a MSc in Statistics at Humboldt University of Berlin and Charité Berlin, where I developed a strong foundation in Data Science and Biostatistics. My academic journey commenced with a BSc in Mathematics and a BSc in Economics from the University of Bonn. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have actively contributed to the academic community. In the academic year 2022/23, I proudly served as the MCR President of Emmanuel College. Driven by a passion for impactful work, I constantly seek opportunities to create a meaningful difference. My dedication extends beyond academia – at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I co-founded the "Lern-Fair" initiative, which provides underprivileged schoolchildren with invaluable free tutoring support. Furthermore, I enthusiastically volunteer with “Experiment e.V,” an organization committed to fostering intercultural relationships and assisting international students during their exchange experiences. Intercultural relations and the power of languages are not only integral to my work but also my personal passions. I derive immense joy from cultivating global friendships and connections.
