About Luke Beecroft

Serving a 4 year apprenticeship at Bradford College studying C&G 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment). I have been a fully qualified installation electrician of 8 years working with a number of companies along the way. Throughout my career within the industry I have predominantly worked with the commercial sector, but consider myself to have a good all round background in domestic and industrial installations. I have worked with a wide variety electrical systems including alarm, CCTV, fire alarm and most of all solar PV renewable energy with battery back up. I have kept my qualification up to date with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and I am currently working towards my 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification. At present I am working for Bradford College Apprenticeships as an electrical installation assessor, I currently hold the position of a trainee as I study towards my assessor's award. Once this is achieved I hold ambitions to push on further and achieve other accolades such as the IQA (Internal Quality Assurance). A career highlight for myself was having the opportunity to work along side Thomas Cook Sport's group. In June 2018 Thomas Cook Sport hosted an event at the 24hr Le Man Motorsport race in France, they had themselves a large field at the event where they hosted over 400+ customers to come for the long weekend. At the time my company was asked to provide an electrician to drive down to France with a convoy and setup the site. I was lucky enough to be selected for what was 3 weeks of the best work I have ever been apart of. Essentially the work consisted of arranging two generators to be delivered to the field so I could then provide 110v to the many tents and caravans that would be turning up to stay with us that weekend. A marquee was put up with a full chef kitchen so power was provided for everything requested there. Vital flood lighting was situated around the camp for on an evening. A satellite dish was installed to broadcast the race in the marque for our guests. It was just an privilege to travel to France and work in the sun in a field and experience the whole event at the same time. I was lucky enough to break off and see some of the racing myself!
