About Luke Carpenter

Experienced international educator and corporate sales professional with over a decade of diverse experience in teaching, curriculum development, and business development. I specialize in English Language instruction across the PYP and IB frameworks, with additional expertise as an IB Examiner for English A Language and Literature and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). My background spans both classroom and corporate environments, allowing me to bring a unique, well-rounded perspective to my work. In the education sector, I have taught in Indonesia and Russia, leading English and TOK classes for high school and middle school students. I currently work as a PYP EAL teacher at Sekolah Global Indo Asia in Batam, where I support language acquisition across Grades 1-5. I am also a freelance IB Examiner for both English A and TOK, providing detailed feedback to students globally. As an educator, my teaching philosophy is rooted in progressivism, with a focus on student-centered, inquiry-based learning. Prior to my full-time commitment to education, I gained valuable corporate experience as a Sales Executive at Euler Hermes Collections in the UK. There, I specialized in B2B credit collections, consistently exceeding sales targets and managing client portfolios for small and medium-sized businesses. This corporate background has honed my communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills—key strengths I bring to my teaching practice and educational leadership roles. Whether in the classroom, or working in the corporate sector, I am dedicated to fostering growth, curiosity, and success in all of my students and clients.
