About Luke Phillips

Luke was working as an industrial designer in Melbourne when he realised the brief we design products in was missing a key piece of criteria: the planet. Since then Luke has dedicated his time to finding ways we can design, build and live in alignment with the planet. This has seen him start two sustainability businesses; Into Carry, a design studio focused on changing our relationship with material resources, and Into Coffee, a zero waste cafe focused on activating the community to make positive sustainable changes. Luke's philosophy is driven by a need to make sustainable changes accessible and desirable. He believes the sooner we stop perceiving environmental issues as wicked problems and start to approach them as opportunities for innovation and positive change, the sooner we will find ourselves in the sustainable future of tomorrow. Most of Luke's work as a designer is focused on educating and empowering the consumer. He believes change starts on the ground. The more people we can get involved, educated and excited about sustainable change, the quicker we can scale its impact.
