About Luke Schubert

I lead an international, cross-functional team to build the blockchain-based software platform that is solving accessibility, scale, and accounting problems in today's nature-based carbon markets. We basically build products that help people make money from planting trees. I align our product's vision with the needs of global forest projects, and manage all product development processes related to the design, buildout, testing, and launch of the OFP platform. My extensive operational and project management experience in the non-profit world equipped me with the process skills needed to thrive in a dynamic, asynchronous environment. My time in commercial real estate showed me how to create systems that deliver financial value to land-based assets. Scouts bolstered my love for the natural world we all inhabit. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in Philosophy, and while in college I received a Fulbright Scholarship to study how 17th century technological and manufacturing innovations contributed to the Transatlantic slave trade. I wrote my Honors thesis on the intersectionality between morality and risk assessment AI algorithms, and in doing so leveraged my experience with philosophical analysis and technology research. I have conducted historical analysis and research for a civil rights legal case that made it to the U.S. Supreme Court. I am a professional mediator. I spent several months teaching over a hundred of my peers about the ethical implications of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. I have managed a multigenerational staff of 60+ employees as the director of operations and hiring for a Scout camp. I also play a mean jazz trumpet. Send me your worst tree joke.
