About Luke Steelman

Inspired by teachers at Heritage Hall during my time as a "lifer" student (attended Preschool through 12th grade), I went on to earn a degree in Secondary Education of Social Studies from Oklahoma State University. I began my career teaching World Cultures and coaching 8th grade girls basketball at Kenneth Cooper Middle School. Two years later, I traded in my coach's whistle for a laptop, becoming one of the Putnam City school district's Site Technology Integration Specialists. While continuing to teach American History, I became more and more versed in technology, integrating it with my curriculum at a time before it was mainstream. A group of my students placed 1st in the Intel Play Digital Tapestry contest for a video production about the Oklahoma City National Memorial. Identified as a leader in educational technology, I was asked to shift into a new role - facilitating math and reading remediation with technology. Soon, my alma mater high school came calling. I could not refuse the offer to return "home." Once a Charger, always a Charger!
