About Luke Swan

I'm a passionate Software Developer who loves to learn and is not afraid of being thrown in the deep end. My primary skillset lies in ES6 and Typescript, however I have worked with a multitude of other languages such as Python, Lua, Java and C#. In my personal time I am also putting some effort into learning C and Rust. I began my career as a Configuration Engineer in Durban, South Africa, where I supported the development, build, and release of our products. After 18 months, I upskilled to become a Software Developer within the same company and later was afforded the opportunity to join a team based in the Isle of Man as a Software Developer. There I became a valued member of a support team, working with international development teams. I then served as a Game Developer for a team based in Estonia, where I took on additional responsibilities after the departure of other more senior team members. Through hard work and determination, I was able to upskill quickly and meet deadlines, successfully onboarding new team members in the process. I now work at Bally's where I started off as a "borderline junior to mid level" front end developer and have quickly become one of the more reliable and tenured developers on my team. I've also taken the initiative to work on the backend for our games, when it was needed, and as a consequence of this have developed the backend on my own for a new game. I now work on both back and front end. I always make it my goal to be better than I was yesterday. I am always ready for new challenges and opportunities to grow as a professional.
