About Lutz Drieling

Curious mind with a strong sense of values, committed to social and global change. I want to understand how power shapes inequality, sustainability, and cooperation — and how postcolonial perspectives can push us to imagine fairer, more inclusive futures. My work sits where history, politics, and today’s challenges meet. I research and teach on postcolonialism, sustainable development, and structural inequality, and I care about making those ideas relevant outside of academia. I have worked across universities, civil society, and community projects — and spent more than a decade in the fire brigade — which has given me both critical theory and hands-on experience in crisis, resilience, and how institutions and society really function. At present, I am preparing for the next step in my academic path with a PhD. I am open to research collaborations, teaching roles, and interdisciplinary projects that question old assumptions and aim to create real change.
