I have had significant exposure to three portfolios. Facilities planning in the auto sector: 10 years experience in a cross functional role(mechanical + Electrical )involving projects where I was required to participate in new model introduction, Engineering changes and continuous improvement initiatives. My project experience has seen me travel overseas for benchmarking and project planning exercises, to then return and implement solutions locally. I have also been responsible for planning, managing and implementing Capex/Plant investment budget. My customers in this role are Production, Logistics, Quality & Maintenance l. Homologation specialist /Vehicle Certification Engineer. I inherited this role as an additional function to my Facilities role. To date I have 7 years experience. I am a registered representative for my company with the National Department of Transport. I am both competent and conversant in local vehicle legislation. In my experience I have executed homologation activities for N&M category(1-3) vehicles, interpreting and applying the Local vehicle compulsory specifications. I have also participated in supporting regulator homologation surveillance audits. My expertise also involve process knowledge on how to register an OEM as a Manufacturer, Importer and Builder. Product and Process Manager Stand-in Role.(Engineering Manager) 3 years experience in this role. My function is to take up the management role in the absence of my manager. The task at hand is to coordinate team activities, act in the role of manager, supporting, motivating, holding team members accountable and driving productivity. In addition to the above, I have been fully developed toward a management role. I have taken part in Leadership courses through the Rhodes Business school. I have successfully completed a management development program which spanned over the course of a year. I have also had the fortune of participle in Business planning activities as part of my development. For the past three years I have also been a Staff rep which has exposed me to the dynamic nature of managing a big organization. I have been exposed to union vs business resolution initiatives to ensure stability within the company. additionally I have also led negotiations between management and staff to establish mutually beneficial solutions.
