About Lydia Forge

I aspire to inspire. My main passion is to be an encouragement by helping youth and young adults experience a perspective shift and unlearn victimization mindsets. During my practicum at the Social Innovation HUB, I developed workshops focused on understanding culture and the workplace. My many years working with a wide range of employers has granted me the opportunity to learn to navigate a variety of experiences. These constantly new work contexts have enabled a new set of skills around navigating new work environments and understanding the varying dynamics at play. I developed two workshops that help youth who have experienced barriers to know what to expect and how to think in new work environments. In tandem with my love for group facilitation, I have led workshops for students going through the Dual Credit program at George Brown College. My singluar passion for seeing others thrive in their environment can manifest itself in a variety of contexts. Namely, social work, social enterprise, mental health, community resources, hospitals, schools, and corporations. Being a creative hands-on, yet a relational person, I find my energy from helping others, building new relationships and meeting needs of the community. Furthermore, the experience I have gained over the years providing executive administrative support in tandem with my love for event management combined with my drive and innovative nature are strengths that I am looking forward to sharing. My wide experience allows me to wear many hats which include networking, management, and mentoring; while being approachable with youth.
