About Lydia Rickards

After three transformative years helping shape Labrador West’s business and tourism landscape, I’ve recently returned to my favourite city - Vancouver - ready for new, impactful challenges. With over a decade of experience in event planning and coordination, and three years in tourism development, project management, and community building, I’m passionate about creating meaningful experiences - whether through travel, events, or place-based storytelling. During my time in Labrador, I revitalized two non-profit organizations, led major infrastructure upgrades, and secured over $1 million in funding through government grants and corporate sponsorships. I coordinated marketing strategies, conferences, and tourism initiatives that contributed to regional economic growth and community pride. I thrive in stakeholder engagement - whether it’s partnering with entrepreneurs, community leaders, or various government departments - and I bring creativity, collaboration, and a solutions-focused mindset to everything I do. Now back on the West Coast, I’m eager to bring this energy and experience to new opportunities in tourism, marketing, or community development - working alongside the people and places that make Canada such an incredible place to explore.
