Background
About Lydia-Rose Button
I'm Lyds, I'm a student studying Fashion Marketing and Promotion at the University of Northampton. Balancing my academic journey with motherhood, I’m passionate about both fashion and social justice. As a Level 5 course representative and a student ambassador, I actively contribute to the university community, ensuring that student voices are heard and that new students feel welcomed and supported. With a strong background in design, I specialize in alternative fashion, always exploring unconventional styles and advocating for self-expression through clothing. My interests extend beyond fashion, as I am deeply committed to human rights and work to raise awareness about social issues that impact marginalized communities. Whether it's through my studies, my creative work, or my advocacy, I strive to make a positive impact both in the fashion world and the wider community. I have skills in Adobe software, social media, photography, marketing, content creation, branding, event planning and management through hands on experience and self taught determination. I've had experience managing small businesses' social media accounts and creating content caterer to target audience but also resonates with their brand identity. Pre University I have an extensive knowledge in the health & social care industry from being a care assistant, team leader, and an acting manager of a care home for elderly residents. Creating a safe and inclusive environment for all while providing person-centered care to vulnerable individuals with dementia and mental health conditions. This included admin, payroll, and various HR responsibilities in ensuring colleagues had a safe and progressive work environment. My time in the social sector was life changing and has shaped me into the person I am today. My deep ethos for individuality and inclusion continues in my work as I explore a more creative career route; you can take me out the sector but you can't take my experience & appreciation for it away. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile, please message me for opportunities and connections
