About Lyle Waite

As a proactive Public Works Superintendent, I manage several departments throughout the Public Works Division and maintain all roadways and building in the city of Novato. I also review the budget and minimize operating expenses. This is such a rewarding career for me because not only am I working in maintenance, but I love making the city a beautiful place to live. I also enjoy flexing my negotiation muscles while I find independent contractors to hire for various maintenance jobs. As a result, I save the city $250K/year, which allow those funds to be spent for other programs. I’m also very proud to help those in the city who are less fortunate. I did this by hiring some homeless people. I wanted to give them an opportunity to gain employment experience so that they can become contributing citizens for the great city of Novato.
