About Lynda Meeks

Lynda Meeks is currently an Airbus Simulator Instructor for Cathay Pacific Airlines. She previously was employed as a Citation X pilot at NetJets, Inc, a fractional airline. Prior to NetJets, Lynda flew for Flight Options and Mesa Airlines, a regional airline for USAirways Express after leaving the Active Army in Lynda Meeks graduated with a BA in History and received her commission as a second lieutenant soon after through Army ROTC and was assigned the aviation branch on active duty starting January 1993. Lynda then attended the Aviation Officer Basic Course Initial Entry Rotary Wing Training (helicopter flight school) at Ft Rucker, AL, before being stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, during which she trained for fixed wing aircraft which she flew throughout Europe and Southwest Asia. Her duties included many leadership and management positions, to include performing as the civilian contract representative for multi-national aircraft maintenance crews. In 1997-98, Lynda attended the Military Intelligence Advance Course at Ft Huachuca, AZ, after which she was stationed at Ft Bliss, TX, in an Aerial Reconnaissance unit performing counter drug operations in Central & South America. Her responsibilities also involved acting as Flight Operations officer for unit aircraft flying in various countries. In Lynda began her civilian career as a regional airline pilot and transferred her officer commission to the Ohio Army National Guard as an aviation maintenance supervisor, flying UH-1 Hueys. As a fractional airline pilot, she has flown the Citation IIs & Vs, the Beechjet, and the Citation X. She also has accomplished her 737 type rating. Lynda founded the nonprofit organization Girls With Wings, in 2005 to use women in aviation to inspire girls to achieve their full potential and to supply scholarships and flight training opportunities.
