About Lyndsay Smith

I am a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator through the Positive Discipline Association. I teach a 9-Week parenting group at Hopeful Beginnings. I also teach in-home workshops (Parenting Parties) for parent-groups of 8 or more. The Parenting Group is open is any individual, there is no requirement that the participant be an ongoing client of Hopeful Beginnings. We accept clients from other agencies with a Release of Information and current Treatment Plan. Hopeful Beginnings accepts SL County Medicaid, Private Insurance, or Private Pay. Positive Discipline is a method of parenting that emphasizes respect for both children and parents, parents being kind and firm, and parents being pro-active instead of reactive. The goal is to help parents gain a new perspective on misbehavior and to increase a parent's tool belt with practical skills.
