About Lynette Byrne

I have extensive experience in finance, management accounting, budgeting, project management, data analysis and compliance. I am passionate about my work and my range of experience covers general management (including financial project management), supervision and training of finance and accounting staff; human resources and performance management; ensuring statutory compliance; compliance with donor funded organization regulations; financial and cash flow management; monthly management accounting and financial reporting to the Board; ensuring that controls are in place to minimize risk related to the payment approval process; preparing and monitoring budgets; preparing interim and year-end audit packs; liaising with both internal and external auditors; preparing annual financial statements; implementing and maintaining policies and procedures; and corporate governance and compliance. I have extensive experience in Indirect Cost Rate submissions for NICRA purposes. I am proficient at drafting budgets and cost proposals, and have been involved with projects from proposal stage right through to the implementation and project management stages. My greatest asset is my advanced excel skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of application software packages ranging from accounting to data information management systems. I’ve also been an integral part in the development of data management systems, working closely with end users, management and programmers and the development of excel driven internal control tools to assist staff with being more productive and in particular to eliminate common errors in the finance environment. Prior to joining Genesis Analytics in 2024, I managed the finance division at Khulisa Management Services, providing support to companies registered in South Africa, the US, Zambia, Ghana, and eSwatini.
