About Lynette Chan

Tough things don’t last, tough people do.” This is a statement that I resonate with, encouraging me to persevere. Picking up Table Tennis in Mayflower Secondary School back in 2016 was a struggle as I did not have any background experience. Therefore, I had to start from scratch. Despite the challenges faced, it spurred me on further to train outside of school and constantly gain feedback from my coach. Playing doubles thought me the importance of effective communication with my teammate and being able to think quickly on my feet to win against my opponents during competitions. I am constantly seeking for new opportunities to hone and develop my skills such as problem solving and critical thinking. With an interest in Human Resources, I strive for excellence in every project and tasks assigned. Additionally, I am a tenacious learner who questions, reflects and seeks in the pursuit of learning. Learning from past mistakes enable me to deepen my knowledge and reveal new insights.Taking on new heights and challenges that pushes me outside of my comfort zone allows me to become more susceptible and adaptable to changes. This is a valuable asset as the future is always unpredictable. Having had leadership experience from being a Student Councillor in the past, I learned how to compromise and be innovative when resources are limited. Furthermore, having thought the value of empathy allowed me to put others need’s before myself and understanding from their perspective better. Outside of SUSS, I am passionate about reading, playing sports and photography. If you share the same interests, do let me know!
