As a dedicated Functional Family Therapist in Child Welfare, I bring a unique perspective to my practice, combining my experience as a former Police Officer with a Bachelor of Psychological Science degree. I have a passion for helping individuals and families navigate through life's challenges. During my tenure as a Police Officer, I developed exceptional interpersonal skills and gained valuable insights into the complexities of human behavior and the impact of societal factors on individuals and families. This experience honed my ability to empathise, listen, and communicate effectively with people from all walks of life. As a Family Therapist, I am committed to providing a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions. I believe that every individual and family has inherent strengths that can be leveraged to overcome challenges and achieve positive change. My integrative therapeutic approach combines evidence-based techniques with a deep understanding of the unique needs and dynamics of each family system. My decision to pursue a Master of Social Work (Qualifying) stems from my unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals and families. I believe that by advancing my education, I can enhance my skills and knowledge, allowing me to have an even greater impact on the communities I serve.
