About Lynn Bailey

I am the Director of the Office of the Vice-President (External) at the University of Manitoba. The External Relations portfolio includes Marketing & Brand, Alumni Relations, Donor Relations, and Strategic Communications. In this role I provide strategic support to the Vice-President (External), overseeing all operational aspects of the office, including human resources, financial management, space and capital management, communications, policies & procedures, and special projects. Prior to this role, I was the Director, Education Programs for the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP). I was responsible for the successful management and oversight of CAIRP's student educational programs for its members across Canada. Previously I worked at the University of Winnipeg where I held a variety of roles. I was the Director of Work Integrated Learning & External Partnerships for UWinnipeg, with the goal to connect industry partners with UWinnipeg students to find meaningful and impactful opportunities. Prior to that role I was the Director of the President's Office. I was responsible for providing senior level support to the President and her executive team in achieving the University's strategic directions. And prior to accepting a secondment to the President's Office, I was the Director of Business Development for the Faculty of Business & Economics where I was responsible for the financial advancement of the Faculty through developing partnerships locally, nationally, and internationally. Before joining UWinnipeg, I worked for over 13 years at the Certified General Accountants Association of Manitoba. That role allowed me to develop a sound understanding of professional education, customer service, online learning, and association management. I am very passionate about my work and enjoy developing opportunities for individuals to be able to achieve their educational goals. The most rewarding aspect of the work I do is watching the transformation of students into successful professionals. I believe in the power of education and hold a Bachelor of Commerce, a Master in Business Administration, a professional accounting designation (CPA, CGA), and a Masters Certificate in Project Management.
