About Lynn Garson

Lynn Garson is an attorney, author, advocate, and speaker living in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Tulane University with a degree in art history and holds a law degree from Emory University School of Law. She has lived in Paris, New York, and Hong Kong and currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a practicing healthcare attorney with a prominent national law firm. In her earlier incarnation as a retailer, she owned one of Atlanta’s best-known gift and tabletop stores. Garson Goodman was the first store in the Southeast to import a number of luxury lines from France, England, Italy, and Portugal. Recently, she published her first book, Southern Vapors, which chronicles her rise and fall - from silver spoon to straitjacket and back. With honesty and poignancy, she details the privileges of her upbringing, the slow decline that eventually saw her treated in a low-income mental health facility, and her empowering comeback. In the future, Lynn plans to continue her work as a healthcare attorney while also sharing her story in hopes that - through her struggles - she can influence positive change and encourage more people to find their comeback stories.
