About Lynsey Smith

I am a passionate Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) as of 6-29-18, who has worked with children on the Autism Spectrum and other Developmental Disabilities with behavioral problems for 8 years. During all this time, I have stayed at Lighthouses Behavioral and Habilitation, as a volunteer for the first 4 years and then as a Behavioral Assistant once I completed my 40-hour training in 2016. In these years, I have learned so much and have a love for this career that I did not think was possible. This job gives me a reason to be exited to go to work the next day to know I am helping a family in desperate need of ABA therapy. I have had verity of cases from nonverbal to sever behavioral problems. With the nonverbal children, I have learned to conduct a functional communication training. With the children that have had the behavioral problems I have learned to discourage inappropriate behaviors such as inappropriate touch and self-injury, elopement, physical aggression, verbal aggression. I have a special training on Professional Crisis Management by the PCMA. I was certified at a level one practitioner. I have done parent training as part of my behavioral programs that I have been responsible to impalement. I want to work to become a BACB and maybe later on open my own company and continue to help children and families in need of Applied Behavior Analysis.
