About Maarja Liba

Passionate about culture since joining Theatre Vanemuine, where I spent 12 years immersing myself in the magic of theater. Starting from an usher position, I progressed through seven different roles, ultimately leading the Production department. Responsible for overseeing seven sub-departments and managing a team of 110 employees. Thrilled to take on the role of Director at Tiigi Seltsimaja, leading a team dedicated to driving community engagement, curating impactful programs, preserving folk culture and shaping the cultural landscape of Tartu. With a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, I have always been fascinated by the differences and similarities between individuals. Recognizing that we spend a significant portion of our lives in work environments, I strongly believe in creating spaces that foster trust, safety, and growth, taking into account employees' unique strengths and motivational factors. Effective communication lies at the heart of building a sense of community and trust, and my Master's Degree in Communication Management equips me with the necessary tools to achieve this. As someone who thrives on challenges and opportunities for personal growth, I am always seeking new avenues to make a difference. I excel in finding order within chaos, exploring innovative approaches, and establishing systems that allow room for creativity and development.
