Experienced Safety & Emergency Response professional with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy. I combine hands-on expertise as a firefighter and paramedic with leadership roles in industrial safety, fall protection, and emergency preparedness at 3M. My career began at Ghent University as a physiotherapist and research assistant, complemented by voluntary service as a firefighter and paramedic. These early experiences fueled my passion for safety, urgent medical care, and climbing—leading me into roles where these disciplines intersect. As Training Manager/Supervisor at 3M Fall Protection BeNeLux, I trained workers and freelance instructors to operate safely at height and in confined spaces. Beyond technical instruction, I emphasized awareness and proactive safety culture across all levels—from mechanics and engineers to management and HSE professionals. In my role as Emergency Response Engineer at 3M Zwijndrecht, I specialized in internal and external emergency planning and coordinated the internal intervention team. This position allowed me to bridge theory and practice, ensuring that both informed each other to strengthen safety in high-risk environments. Currently, as EMEA EHS Subject Matter Expert Fall Protection – Facilities & R&D Offices at 3M, I provide expertise across regions, ensuring consistent application of global fall protection and workplace safety standards in technical centers, offices, and research facilities. By aligning local practices with international frameworks, I help build safer and more resilient workplaces worldwide.
