I work in Asset and Liability Management (ALM) at HBL, where I manage a PKR 2.5+ trillion (USD ~8.8+ billion) government securities portfolio. My core responsibilities include ensuring liquidity, maintaining regulatory compliance, and developing investment strategies to optimize portfolio performance. I also oversee HBL’s participation in primary auctions, monitor market conditions, and disseminate benchmark rates. With a strong focus on investment management, I’ve developed deep analytical skills in portfolio analysis, liquidity management, and interest rate risk. My continuous exposure to financial markets has equipped me to interpret evolving market dynamics, assess macroeconomic trends, and execute strategies that generate value while effectively managing risk. I’m especially interested in how regulatory developments and market shifts influence asset allocation and balance sheet risk across the financial services industry. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and have passed CFA Level I am also a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM). During my time at IBA, I served as a Teaching Assistant for courses in Derivatives and Fixed Income, which further strengthened my understanding of complex financial instruments and market mechanics. My academic and professional experiences have given me a robust foundation in financial markets and risk management.
