About Mac Dobson

Over a 15 year career in lending, finance, and advisory, I have secured, issued and/or coordinated more than $1 billion in financings on behalf of clients and other stakeholders. In my current role, I am a direct lender with LendingClub Bank, where I assist small and medium-sized business owners with SBA 504 and 7(a) loans ranging from to $20 million. My success in this role and past positions has always been rooted in integrity and a commitment to put the interests of my clients first. My career includes 10 years working as a direct lender. In 2008, I took a position in Chicago with SomerCor, a Certified Development Company, and one of the largest issuers of subordinate financing through the SBA’s 504 program. In 2012, I enrolled in the evening MBA program at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. I graduated in 2015, and moved back to my home state of Michigan after landing a role with ValStone Partners, a private equity fund focused on alternative sectors including distressed debt, direct real estate investments and development, and related special situations. During my time with ValStone, I served on the fund’s investment team that acquired a 15 property,$75 million portfolio from publicly-traded Brookdale Senior Living (NYSE: BKD), serviced a portfolio of performing and non-performing loans, asset-managed units of senior housing, and worked closely with senior management and other stakeholders in the active repositioning of several real estate developments. Prior to beginning my current role at LendingClub, I was SVP of Originations for Mag Mile Capital. Mag Mile Capital is a boutique real estate investment bank that assists CRE owners and developers with debt, equity, and tax credit needs.
