About Mac Lofton

As a UXDI Lead Instructor at General Assembly, I collaborate with co-instructors and teaching assistants to provide meaningful and prompt feedback to students who are learning UX design skills. I also guide them through personal career development and help them establish their voice and intention for real-world experiences and job placement opportunities. I enjoy honing my leadership and design skills by empowering novice human-centered designers to become confident and competent practitioners. In addition to teaching, I was a Creative Lead and product Architect at Base10 Genetics, a former precision medicine company that aimed to create better healthcare outcomes for people at risk for chronic illnesses. I established digital design operations and support frameworks for the UX team, led strategic digital design projects from conception to execution, and represented digital design capabilities to domestic and international stakeholders and executive leadership teams. I also advocated for the integration of design thinking principles within cross-functional teams to create a unified ecosystem, and administer consultations of new business partnerships to increase efficiency. I am passionate about creating experiential product and service designs that solve real-life problems and delight users.
