Background
About Mac Taylor
I have several years of experience in backend system development, focusing on web system development where I apply architectural philosophies like on internal workflow and coding designs pattern. I led the backend team of a product, developing a Game-Fi real-time online game that supported around 500 concurrent players. In this role, I built CI/CD pipelines from scratch, implemented monitoring and logging systems, designed and managed AWS Cloud Infrastructure and RDBMS, and made a significant impact on backend architecture design and development. Currently, I am involved in backend system development.# More about me I am passionate about open-source culture and actively promote its values. As an organizer of open-source conferences, I am committed to advocating for open-source principles, believing they can positively influence both the industry and the environment. Additionally, I organize events, having led several large-scale technical gatherings with participants ranging from dozens to thousands of professional developers, all coming together for knowledge sharing. In academia, I have focused on automated theorem proving, specifically exploring natural language processing related to mathematical formal languages. I have published papers and continue to contribute to this field. I also have experience in other areas. I served as president of a Game Design Club, where I taught game design, mainly using the Unity engine. I led a medium-sized team that successfully published two mobile game apps, and I have developed various game and non-game applications, including hardware-software integration, arcade games, and two patented rehabilitation products. These experiences have deepened my understanding of hardware, enabling me to design circuits, develop firmware for STM32FX/8051, and create sensor circuit designs. I was also part of a Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) lab, where I participated in three years of foundational research on Chinese word segmentation in NLP, as well as research on digital signal processing (DSP), GMM-HMM, and speech ASR. After joining the research unit, I delved into computer vision and became proficient in technologies such as OpenCV, object detection, Yolo, Mask-RCNN, and Cycle-GAN. These diverse experiences have provided me with a wealth of problem-solving insights. While I currently work as a backend engineer, my thinking is never limited by this role. I enjoy being hands-on and believe that taking action creates more impact than mere influence.
