About MacAila Wagner

I graduated from the University of Guelph, Ontario, with a Bachelor of Science (honors) degree in Zoology in 2020. I was then lucky to be hired on as a part of the Canada Summer jobs Internship program in May 2021 and quickly became a full-time member of staff with Cascade Environmental Resource Group LTD, in British Columbia. I have since been acknowledged as a Biologist in Training by the College of Applied Biology. Since starting with Cascade, I conduct and contribute to proposal writing, permit, license, authorization and approval of applications, desktop and field assessments for aquatic and terrestrial habitats, field surveys (bird, invasive species, site bio inventory), data compilation and analysis, habitat restoration, monitoring for development and construction projects, and more. Prior to my career as an environmental technician, I have had experience working as a kayak, canoe, hiking, and biking tour guide in Whistler, as well as a white-water raft guide in Ontario. Other previous work involves my internship as a Research Assistant at the University of Guelph, as well as working as a student field technician in Churchill, Manitoba.
