About MacAuley Davies

Rugby league from the age of 8 years old Was my life, from the Age of 14 I Singed my first contract with Wigan Warriors Scholarship. Worked my way into the academy at 16 for 3 years then once in my last year for-filled the dream of a First Team contract for Wigan Warriors, professional sportsman at the age of 19. After getting a very serious concussion at the age of 22, why world fell apart. Due to this I had an MRI scan and the condition Chiari malformation was discovered, something that I have had from being born with but never known about. That was the end of Rugby League for me and I was forced to retire. Rugby league has really shaped the person that I am today, respectful, determined and a good leader. Nothing will ever fill that whole but life goes on and I have to get back on track. I have now got a job as a Care practitioner, caring for kids who live in a home and trying to shape them into better people and send them in a good direction. Sports media really interests me and it’s something I’d love to do in the future full time. I have commitments with BBC Radio Manchester, radio chat (often every Thursday night 6-7) then when the season starts I’m going to be co-commentating on some games. All the experience possible in this area will only benefit me.
