About MacEy Hooks

Board certified occupational therapist who earned a masters of science in occupational therapy at Lenoir-Rhyne University. Previously earned a bachelors of science in rehabilitations services with a minor in psychology, obtained from East Carolina University. I aim to positively impact the community by advocating and achieving maximum independence for people with disabilities, chronic or acute. My goal is to ensure that people with disabilities are receiving the care and services they are entitled to and are able to return to participating in meaningful occupations. I have learned many transferrable skills from my education and work experience such as upholding patient confidentiality, displaying beneficence and justice, applying various models of practice and frameworks, and always demonstrating person first language. From my department involvement and leadership roles, I have learned to think critically to obtain the best results while satisfying the needs of my colleagues.
