About MacKenzie Baird

As an Energy Advisor at Changeworks, I help customers lower their carbon footprint and manage their energy bills through phone and email services. I also train new advisors, update email templates, and maintain high data protection standards. I have completed multiple certifications in energy awareness and renewable technologies, and I am progressing in a business and admin qualification. My passion for social justice and critical thinking led me to pursue a Master of Arts in Social Anthropology from the University of St Andrews, where I graduated in 2022. Outside of my studies, I analyzed key issues and topics in global poverty, nuclear security, and artificial intelligence, and discussed the philosophy and approach of Effective Altruism in a 9-week fellowship. I also represented and advocated for around 70 fourth-year anthropology students as a class representative, and collaborated with others to host events and socials. I am a skilled researcher and presenter, with a strong interdisciplinary and analytical mindset. I am always eager to learn new skills and knowledge, and to apply them to create positive impacts in the world. I thrive in environments that allow me to collaborate with diverse and motivated people, and to challenge and improve myself.
