As a Sociologist, I have been use race, gender, sexuality, poverty, and disability theory as praxis at a majority of the jobs I have had in the past. These jobs included being an advocate for homeless youth and survivors of gender-based violence, A residential supervisor of a group home, and working as an office work for educational departments at a public university. I have developed crisis intervention and trauma-informed care skills through my work with oppressed groups such as people with physical and/or mental disabilities, people with mental illness's, homeless youth, and victims/survivors of stalking, domestic violence, and sexual assault. As a Teacher, I have used my sociology degree to further my culturally-responsive teaching and differentiation strategies. I have a Master's degree in Teaching focusing on 5-12 social studies teaching. I strive to create a classroom of academic success through the development of a classroom community.
