About MacKenzie Counterman

Mackenzie opened The Dance Loft in 2019 at 22 years of age with a plan to develop a high-quality training facility for young hopeful dancers. She attended both Point Park University in Pittsburgh and University of the Arts in Philadelphia in their dance programs. Mackenzie has been dancing for 14 years, training in all styles of dance and contortion, as well as a member of the AAHS Gymnastics Team from 2012-2015. During her senior year she also taught the Beginner and Advanced Dance classes at AAHS. She has taken master classes and trained with some of today’s top choreographers. Mackenzie has won numerous scholarships to continue her dance education to include Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, Peridance Capezio in NYC, The Dance Awards and Dancer Palooza in LA, JUNK Dance Company in Philadelphia, Point Park Summer Intensive in Pittsburgh, and Motion Dance Convention at Grier School. She has worked with and choreographed for many local studios but is most excited about this journey of instructing, impacting, and guiding her own students through life and the love they share with dance.
