About MacKenzie Glover

I'm currently working as an Environmental Project Coordinator in the Ecosystem Services Department at Inlailawatash, where I'm proud to work on a variety of projects involving ecological restoration, environmental monitoring, native landscape planting and more, all guided by the ethics and goals of Tsleil-Waututh Nation. In April 2023, I completed my Master of Science in Ecological Restoration at Simon Fraser University and BC Institute of Technology. My thesis focused on investigating bee communities in naturalized stormwater systems in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with the goal of providing management recommendations to make these sites more bee friendly. I spent two summers working as a Conservation Technician with Native Plant Solutions/Ducks Unlimited Canada in Winnipeg, where I helped with the establishment and maintenance of upland projects around the city. This included seeding and planting, vegetation monitoring, weed control using mechanical and chemical methods, erosion control, and prescribed burning. I graduated from NC State University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences with a focal area in Forest Ecology. At NC State, I was a member of the Division I varsity swim team, committing 20+ hours per week to training and team activities.
