About MacKenzie Gray

I have a background in community engagement, leadership, and advocacy, with experience in education, mentorship, and resource accessibility. At the University of Southern Mississippi, I was the Vice President of the Child and Family Sciences Student Organization. My community involvement includes serving as a Board Member for North Charleston Youth Resistance, a nonprofit focused on youth leadership development, educational support, and mentorship. I have also been a member of the Tri-County Reentry Council, which connects individuals reentering the community with employment, education, transportation, and food assistance. My internships include working at The Coleman Center for Families and Children, supporting families in the Petal School District, and at Doors to Freedom, an organization providing housing and education for survivors of sex trafficking. While there, I led Project HER in Hero, a Women's History Month series highlighting women who overcame challenges and made a meaningful impact. Professionally, I have experience in workforce development, program coordination, and community outreach. I led strategic improvements in the WIOA Work Experience Program by implementing targeted marketing and community engagement strategies, resulting in a 1,300% increase in program participation within the first three months. I was also awarded the MVP Award from Ross Innovative Employment Solutions for contributions to workforce development. My work focuses on supporting individuals by connecting them with resources and opportunities, including but not limited to justice-involved individuals.
