About MacKenzie Ostrowski

Ever since my first hospital experience as a child, I knew I wanted to become a nurse. I have come a long way since then. I have volunteered my time for 6 years at the same hospital that gave my family our lives back. During this time I was awarded multiple scholarships and awards including the Ontario Volunteer Youth Service Award presented by the Government of Ontario. My hard work and determination is constantly on display accompanied by my passion to learn and acquire new skills. These values also aided me in obtaining a dual minor in entrepreneurship and forensic psychology. Throughout my schooling years I also participated in student engagement activities such as being the secretary and co-president of the Nursing Student Community at Ontario Tech University, and increased my advocacy skills through involvement with the Undergraduate Nursing Program Committee. As a registered nurse I plan to create positive change for my patients and within the nursing profession. I look forward to utilizing the nursing skills and standards outlined by the regulatory bodies of my profession while displaying my personal skills in innovation, communication, teamwork, dedication, organization, time management, and critical thinking.
