About MacKenzie Peirce

I am a registered nurse currently focusing my work in pediatric mental health. Specific interests include harm reduction, substance use, program development, and working with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I earned my Bachelors of Nursing Science at Queen’s University in 2021, where I completed my integrated practicum at Kingston General Hospital Inpatient Mental Health (BURR4). I started my nursing career as a CHEO Inpatient Mental Health staff nurse, and later cross trained for the Eating Disorders program. I currently work as the full time program nurse for Step Up Step Down. SUSD is a collaboration between the Youth Services Bureau, CHEO, and Le Cap, designed to help close the service gap between adolescent community mental health services and inpatient hospitalization.
