About MacKenzie Poole
MacKenzie's first love in theatre and live performance is design. She first began with lighting design in 2014 with productions of New Mother by Lucy Clifford (lighting) and Dark of the Moon by Howard Richardson and William Berney (lighting). Her love continued throughout her studies at The National Theatre School of Canada, where her skills and aesthetic grew through projects like Foundation and Central to culminate in her designs of Cloud 9 by Caryl Churchill (sound), we came from dust by Maiko Yamamoto in collaboration with the graduating acting, production and scenography students (lighting). She has had the opportunity to work and learn with professionals such as Maiko Yamamoto, Andrea Lundy, David-Alexandre Chabot, Philip Akin, Lezlie Wade, Nathaniel Kennedy, Glenn Davidson, Jason Hand and Leigh Ann Vardy. MacKenzie now looks to design and participate in shows that challenge and inspire, creating a sense of awe and infinite possibility while tackling issues that transcend age, race, sexuality, gender and generations.
