Background
About MacLean Gander
As I complete my 36th and final year at Landmark College, I embark on new adventures, re-starting my educational consulting business in earnest, and joining Divergents Magazine as Editor in Chief. It has been a long and joyous road working at Landmark, and the experience and expertise I gained there is surpassed only by the deep connections I made with students and colleagues. Now it is time for me to focus more on my own work as a poet and journalist, and to apply what I have learned to helping a broader range of individuals in need. Check out my website at https://macgander.com/ to see the range of services I offer for organizations as well as individuals. A little background. I studied poetry at Harvard and Boston University, where I was a Hoyt Fellow in Creative Writing. After working in the 1980s for Newsweek as a journalist, I joined Landmark College in 1987, where I served for nine years as English department chair during the founding period, then eleven years as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College. I rejoined the faculty in 2009 as a a full professor, teaching a broad range of courses in composition, creative writing, journalism, media studies, education, and leadership. Specialties: Program and curriculum design and development, professional development and training, individual consultation with students and their families, scholarship in English and Education, strategic planning, accreditation, personnel management, strategic budget development and management, academic leadership and management, writing instruction and coaching.
