He has spent the past 10 years evangelizing a career-wide shift to the digital journalism era and has managed to position himself as an inspiration in the journalism space. A calculated risk-taker, and go-getter with impressive media industry knowledge, MacPherson has championed ethical journalism in his profession; his workmanship has motivated upcoming scribes to embrace creativity, ethical and competitive journalism. MacPherson is recognized for generating, gathering, and executing newsworthy ideas into eye- catching news pieces and programmes for ZNBC Television and Radio. For the past 10-years with ZNBC, MacPherson has built a reputation for developing quality Television and Radio programmes, incubating new programme/ news ideas. He has also produced award winning documentaries and news pieces. Some of his productions have helped incubate new clients into mature revenue-generating engine for the institution. Embracing the fundamental values of integrity, creativity, digitalization, and growth, MacPherson consistently ranks among the top crop of young Zambian Journalists. He is a 27-time nationally award winner most of which are environment and Climate Change awards, recipient of the second prize at the 2018 ZIMEO Excellence in Media Awards Gala in Addis Ababa- Ethiopia, for reporting on Conservation and Climate Change. Holder of the 2022 SINGY HANYONA AWARD for most consistent reporting on Environment and Climate (ZEMA AWARDS) MacPherson is member of various Media and stakeholder groups among them, the Crisis Communications Chapter - Zambia, which is under the auspices of MISA Zambia and DW Akademi. He is also working as a Trustee for Uplift Media, a not for profit making Organization focusing on laying the foundation for upcoming Media professionals. MacPherson holds a Diploma in Journalism from Evelyn Hone College and a Bachelor’s of Communication and Journalism from Mulungushi University. He has 10 combined years of experience in the Broadcast Media. He is currently Acting Sub Editor and among the Reporters at ZNBC responsible for the Production of News on ZNBC TV.
