About Macy Thompson

I am an experienced and dedicated researcher who recently graduated with honors from Wesleyan University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Integrative Sciences. I am passionate about the intersection of laboratory science and health. I have worked in a wide variety of sub-fields including microbiology, immunology, genomics, molecular biology, public health, which have given me a broad set of technical skills and knowledge that allow me to tackle scientific problems in unique and innovative ways. My training in integrative sciences as well my experiences teaching and mentoring have led me to excel in communication across different fields and I have developed strong leadership and teamwork skills through such interdisciplinary collaboration. I am currently looking for jobs in biomedical research, ideally with a focus on improving human health through creative, interdisciplinary solutions. I am most excited when I am working on a project that brings together novel ideas and methods to directly tackle some of the biggest issues in global health. When I'm not wearing a lab coat I can be found composing music, playing cello, wandering in the woods, trying out creative baking combinations, or dancing (ideally while hanging from the ceiling, through aerial dance)!
