Function as DB2 LUW Database Administrator involved in using db2 data move utilities like db2move, export, import and load; managing Database user privileges (granting & revoking permissions after proper analysis & approval)- Work on creation & alteration of database objects (tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, functions etc.); performance tuning and resolution of issues- Resolve problematic queries sent by the application developers or identified during database monitoring using db2expln and db2advis- Monitor databases by using db2top, snapshots and event monitors; daily and weekly jobs to avoid dead-locks- Setup the client server communication through catalog. Use the db2pd tool to identify unused indexes in the database - Alter SMS & DMS table space to add containers. Use db2look tool to extract ddl for database objects- Involved in developing tools using shell scripts to automate various database administration jobs; result the objects requiring reorgs and runstats- Perform reorgchk, reorgs and runstats on objects based on requirements. Restore database using redirected restore and simple restore- Render on-call support to troubleshoot issues with the Production schedule. Perform capacity planning and analysis and implement required changes on the database server- Monitor DB2 UDB processes and logs for any anomalies, provide corrective action. Manage
