Your friendly neighbourhood Data Scientist! I am currently working as a Data Scientist at Flyr for Hospitality, in the forecasting team! My core expertise is in developing data-driven solutions to complex business problems through advanced statistical modelling and machine learning methods. My PhD research was in time series analysis and forecasting; in particular, I considered how we can combine forecasts from individual sources in order to improve overall forecasting performance. Prior to my PhD, I completed master's degrees in Theoretical Physics with Mathematics, and Statistics and Operational Research. I have experience with R, Python and C++. I have worked with two major banks, and have enjoyed collaborating with several other industrial partners on 'Problem Solving Days' and 'Data Dives'. I have strong interpersonal skills (I would not have managed two years' working as a bar maid without!), and enjoy creative problem solving (a practical skill heavily developed during my five years' working as a seamstress!).
