About Maddison Vos

I am excited to be 'back in the game' working with Airwaves Music following an 18 month maternity leave. Airwaves Music is Canada's largest wedding and event DJ company that has DJ'd more than events since 2007! Since performing for over a decade Airwaves knows how to take care of your music and sound needs, not to mention the backup DJ policy guaranteeing a well-versed DJ! Previously I worked with the City of New Westminster in the Special Events Office, working side by side with the Special Event Coordinator, responsible for the complete organization and execution of 12 annual civic events. In addition, I worked on 50+ events annually, liaising with different event organizers who produce events in the City of New Westminster every year. Prior to working with the City of New Westminster, I was the the onsite Event Manager for catering company Gourmet Syndicate. I ran a team of servers and bartenders totaling more than 30 people. I also managed and organized the scheduling of those staff and assisted the Catering Manager in all aspects of event planning (rentals, setup, staffing needs, etc.). I helped Gourmet Syndicate coordinate and run corporate Christmas parties, intimate wedding receptions, real estate property grand openings and music events.Before working with the Gourmet Syndicate I was the Program & Events Coordinator for the Downtown New Westminster BIA (business improvement association). In my 3+ years with the BIA, I organized and oversaw numerous events that collectively brought over people to downtown New Westminster, including the Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest, the largest one-day food truck festival in Canada! During my time with the Downtown New West BIA I sat on the Tourism New Westminster Marketing Committee, working with other key community stakeholders to bring visitors and residents together in celebrating the city. In 2014 I sat on the board of directors for the Vancouver Chapter of ILEA Canada (International Live Events Association, previously known as International Special Events Society), helping my VP with organizing Networking and Educational Events scheduled for the 2015/2016 year.
