About Madelein Robinson

Hello and welcome! I’m Madelein—a clinical counsellor, social worker, supervisor, and proud DBT nerd. I have a diverse background with a Bachelor of Nutrition (University of Newcastle), a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy (University of Queensland), and a Master of Social Work (Charles Darwin University). My experience includes therapeutic roles in out-of-home care, Headspace, high-risk suicide prevention programs, and, more recently, psychology and mental health lead at Beam Services. In my current role, I manage PHN-funded mental health programs, coordinate and facilitate the DBT skills groups, work 1:1 with clients and provide clinical support and supervision to a team of wonderful clinicians in both a clinical and management capacity. I’m a Clinical Supervisor and am particularly passionate in DBT-specific supervision, with a strong focus on skill development, working with personality disorders, and supporting clinicians navigating complex presentations. I offer reflective, skills-based supervision in both individual and group formats, helping social workers, counsellors, and psychologists deepen their therapeutic practice, maintain ethical boundaries, and build confidence. My approach is client-centred, strengths based, trauma-informed, and integrative—drawing from DBT, CBT, CBT-E, ACT. Im trained in EMDR and integrate this into practice when appropriate. I’m a registered member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), and the Nutrition Society of Australia (NSA). I’m passionate about making DBT accessible to all—clients, carers, and clinicians—and fostering professional growth through collaboration, consultation, and supervision. So excited to connect
