Madelene is a nursing professional with strong communication and leadership skills who is a a proven asset as a member of inter-professional health care teams locally, provincially and nationally. Madelene's knowledge and clinical expertise in heart health, chronic disease prevention and management, and coaching principle's shows up in her passion for the nursing profession and work she does as a Professional Practice Consultant and Nurse Health Coach. Founder of WoodStream Heart Health Coaching, Madelene brings her belief of preventative healthcare through lifestyle coaching to empower people to move from where they are today to where they want to be with their health and wellness goals. Madelene has a bachelor’s degree with honours in the Science of Nursing from the University of British Columbia, a masters degree in Health Studies from Athabasca University, and multiple course work and certificates in Health and Life Coaching including being a facilitator of Brief Action Planning from the Centre of Collaboration, Motivation & Innovation. During more than 25 years as a heart health nurse, from the critical care setting to cardiac rehabilitation program to Heart Function Clinic, Madelene has worked with hundreds of people to support them through their recovery/journey after a heart event.
