About Madeline Edwards

I am an applied mathematician working currently as a NIH T32 Postdoctoral Scholar in Dr. Chengcheng Huang's lab at the University of Pittsburgh. This project focuses on generating a multi-dimensional interneuron computational model based on experimental data to predict outcomes and damage resulting from stroke. My research interests include dynamical systems, partial differential equations, computational neuroscience, and fluid dynamics. I graduated from Elon University in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Biology. I have been fortunate enough to have been enrolled in an Undergraduate Research Experience in the Mathematical BioSciences at the Ohio State and Virginia Tech. During this time, I was involved in biostatistic research. While at Elon, I was involved in an Applied Mathematics research with Mathematical Modeling of prostate cancer cells. I completed my doctoral thesis at the University of New Hampshire Integrated Applied Mathematics Doctoral program, thesis title: Mathematical Analysis of Blood Flow through a Channel with Flexible Walls, under Dr. Marianna Shubov.
