About Madeline Guy

I am a second-year medical student at Northeast Ohio Medical University, where I actively engage in medical research and student leadership. I serve my community as Vice President of the Association of Women in Surgery, a NEOMED Learning Center tutor, and a Professional Development Advising Team mentor. I also worked as a NEOMED Ambassador, connecting with alumni and recruiting university donations. Since starting medical school, I have been working in NEOMED's hearing research lab, studying the relationship of Alzheimer's Disease and aging in auditory pathways. I was selected to continue working in the lab as a summer research fellow. I recently gave an oral presentation on our project at NEOMED's research symposium, where we were awarded for our work. My Master's capstone research project focused on "Mapping the Autonomic Deep Cerebellar Nuclei to Improve Treatment of Dysautonomia." The curriculum also allowed the exploration of various imaging modalities and clinical opportunities to see their applications. As an undergraduate at Samford University, I was a University Fellow, Clark Scholar, and Howard Scholar. I held several leadership positions, most heavily invested in positions with the Student Government Association. As an elected Senator and Senate Committee chair, I developed communication skills through advocacy and collaboration with university administration. My internship at the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) further enhanced my leadership, communication, and presentation skills by engaging in data analysis and multiple national projects.
